Joey Skye, Chair of CVRA
In June 2014, Joey moved to the Pulse development.
Attending various Hendon Area Committees and local councillors surgeries, Joey became very active within the community.
By February 2015 Joey setup ‘The Colindale Pulse’ blog, which to date has had over 60,000 hits as he felt the community needed some additional help.
As the community grew, Joey formed, with a pool of residents from Rhythm , Pulse and Edition the Colindale Village residents’ association to be known as CVRA in the last quarter of 2017.
With a vision of branching out onto other developments in its vicinity, our ethos is to have one voice for our community and to support the individual developments issues.
We also want to create a safer neighbourhood of tenants, landlords and leaseholders.
Ali Fazal, Treasurer of CVRA
Ali moved to Colindale just over 2 years ago and has been an active member of the community within Pulse.
Born and raised in Kenya, Ali move to the UK just over two decades ago to pursue further education.
As the Treasurer of the CVRA, Ali has over 17 years of Banking/Finance experience with a BA (Hons) degree in International Business Administration and a Masters in Money, Banking and Finance
Ali has worked closely with other members in launching CVRA who have tried bringing the community together and making the Colindale Village a better place to live.
Ali says ‘an effective treasurer is a vital part of running a community organisation. The Treasurer has a watchdog role over all aspects of financial management, working closely with other members of the Management Committee to safeguard CVRA finances. Taking on the role is a significant responsibility, with even the smallest organisations facing financial red tape and tax regulations..’
