Paddy Power Appeal Dismissed

Good news from our Village – PP has lost its Appeal ….they could re-try to Appeal again but it should be time to move on.

CVRA Statement from our Comms Manager

Residents living within Colindale Village, who have been campaigning against a Paddy Power opening, were today given some more good news to celebrate.
After losing a planning appeal with Barnet Council, Paddy Power decided to appeal against this decision by taking the case to the Secretary of State.
The verdict of that appeal was today given as dismissed.

CVRA [Colindale Village Residents’ Association] and the local community are delighted with the inspectors decision.

It is now hoped that Paddy Power will stop their hostile pursuit of plans to open a betting shop within the area.

Further summed up by Nicholas Taylor, the inspectorate that a betting shop would not be in service to the local community, and that indeed that another betting shop nearby has already closed.

We like to thank our local authority, Barnet Council who has taken into consideration the wider public’s view, a victory for the people and Barnet putting the community first.
